Progress and a Promise

As many of you know, we suffered a catastrophic fire in August of 2022 with just weeks to go. We lost everything in our back kitchen, suffered extreme heat and smoke damage throughout the market, and the heartache of irreplaceable craftsmanship - up in smoke. Since then, we’ve been working hard to bring back our vision and it’s even better than we could ever have imagined. Here are a few photos of the damage and where things are today.

While we don’t have an opening date to share at the moment, we promise we’re working hard for it to be as soon as possible. We’ll keep you posted!

And finally, we can’t thank you enough for your generous donations, kind words and weekly gifts of pumpkin bread over the past 6 months rebuilding the market. Together, you raised more than $53,000 to help pay our professional mitigation team and repurchase related building materials. You lifted our spirits and helped drive us forward when we needed it most. You like us, you really like us! And we love you back!

Fundraiser for Gregg Olsen by Stuart Chisholm : Help Repair and Rebuild Olalla Bay Market!! (gofundme.com)

Our cafe area is a bit farther than this photo today. We’ll serve espresso, soft serve, and beer & wine from here. You’ll pay for groceries and order from the restaurant menu here as well.

Our beautiful pizza oven! She survived the smoke and heat (she’s made for that) and is gearing up to deliver the best pizza in town in the coming months. The Olalla Valley barnwood that wraps our pizza kitchen and built-in cooler survived the fire as well. A little elbow grease goes a long way!

Floors are in, sneeze guard is up, and windows replaced. We’ve also replaced all of our heating/cooling system and custom Olalla artwork.

Tables are in! We will have about 30 seats in the market for dine-in customers. It’s hard to decide which is the best spot - a view of the water, pizza kitchen, or parking lot (for people watchers) - you’ll have to decide for yourself!

The epicenter of the fire (which was ruled by the Fire Marshal to be undetermined) is all hooked up. Looking forward to your orders!
